- Promote diversity and inclusion in biotechnology, bioinformatics and related fields

Program Timeline
- Participating labs are hosted and made available on the website
- Identify interesting projects that align with your interests (apply to at least 3)
- Apply to projects with
- Motivation letter also explaining why you chose the project and what you can contribute (Maximum 400 words)
- 2 page CV* (your research skills will be updated on hackbio)
- Recommendation letter
- Virtual Interview and Selection
- Shortlisted candidates would be interviewed by lab heads
- Successful applicants would be informed
- Onboarding from HackBio and the ambassadors
- Onboarding into the labs
Program Details
- 10-15 Participating Laboratories
- 8 weeks of research experience and learning
- Mentorship by scientists that are currently doing research
- Access to scientific group meetings and journal clubs
- Networking and grad school events
- Closing symposium/seminar
Application Guide
- Application can only be made on this website
- Review the laboratory projects properly to ensure that they fit your interests and skills. (Visit hackbio courses if you feel you need more competence)
- You may only apply to one laboratory per application cycle
- The program is completely (100%) remote
Who can apply?
- Must have completed a hackbio program (internship, fellowship, course or bootcamp) and has a certification or badge
- show a strong interest in pursuing a career in life sciences
- Looking to apply to grad school in the next opening application cycle
- Must apply using the on-line application (no other formats are acceptable)
- Can speak and write fluently in english
- Have an internet accessible laptop (there is no support for laptops or internet at the moment)
- Candidates of all nationalities are welcome to apply (especially those from LMICs)

- At least one reference letter from a scientific advisor/mentor.
- All documents should be prepared in PDF
N/B: These documents are very important for application success. Incomplete or inaccurate application materials will be automatically rejected for consideration.
Once you begin your application, you must finish it in one sitting. You cannot save it and come back.
Additional Information
- When you are selected, a contract of association for 8 weeks and dedication to work for 40 hrs/week will be agreed upon and signed by you
